In recent decades, the combined effects of natural disasters and climate change have severely affected many children and families in Vietnam. Thua Thien Hue is one of the provinces in the Central region that suffer from plentiful natural disasters, especially storms and floods. This article presents the current situation of managing the education of disaster response skills for secondary school students in Hue city. 175 secondary school administrators and teachers participated in the questionnaire. The results show that secondary schools have made efforts to manage the education of disaster response skills for secondary school students. However, there are still limitations in planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the implementation. The results of this study are the basis for Hue city secondary schools to propose measures to improve the effectiveness of managing the education of disaster response skills for secondary school students.
