Tóm tắt
Natural disasters affect every community locally and worldwide, in which children are considered the most vulnerable to the impacts of disasters. Therefore, appropriate disaster prevention education for school students in the affected areas is very important. This study was conducted to assess the current status of knowledge and awareness of high school students in the Central and Central Highlands regions of Vietnam about natural disasters and disaster prevention. The research results show that the students' knowledge and awareness about disaster prevention was above average, but not as expected; female students had higher awareness and understanding than male students; junior high school students had better knowledge and awareness than high school students; High school students in the Central region had better knowledge and awareness than those in the Central Highlands. The research results are the basis for proposing disaster prevention education measures for high school students in localities with frequent natural disasters.
