Tóm tắt

In the context of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teaching, artificial intelligence (AI) has become a valuable tool for improving language skills, particularly speaking. This study explores students’ perceptions and attitudes of the use of AI-powered language learning applications to enhance their speaking skills. By reviewing previous research on AI applications in language learning, this paper explores the impact of their application in the EFL speaking context. The study was conducted with 2nd year English-majored students at Hanoi Metropolitan University who have been studying Speaking 1, 2 and 3 and employed a descriptive qualitative method and collected data through questionnaire, observation checklist, and field notes. The results indicated that AI-powered language learning tools can significantly enhance students' engagement in learning speaking skills, particularly through interactive feedback and personalized practice. The paper concludes with recommendations for educators and students on leveraging AI tools to improve speaking skills in English language education.
