Developing standards-based curriculum has become a growing trend in the world. In Vietnam, following the Introduction of the 2018 general education program, in order to contribute to the effective implementation of the program, the development of assessment standards was introduced. This article presents the curriculums of subjects in the field of social sciences in some states and countries (USA, Australia, Canada). The article contributes to clarifying and demonstrating standards in those curriculums. Although the expression of standards and levels of standards are not uniform across programs, the research results also provide suggestions for the development of assessment standards for curriculums in the social sciences at Vietnamese primary schools.
