In the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0, information technology (IT) has become a core element in education. Applying IT to teaching not only contributes to improving the quality of teaching but also changes the way both teachers and students approach knowledge. But the current status of information technology application activities in teaching at primary schools in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City is an issue that has not been researched. The article surveys the situation applying information technology into teaching at primary school in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City. Surveying 294 primary school administrators and teachers at 09 primary schools in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City using a questionnaire. The results of study showed that the situation applying information technology into teaching at primary school in District 5, Ho Chi Minh City is at an occasional level. The results of this research are the basis for teachers and educational administrators to research measures to enhance IT application activities.
