Information text is one of the three types of documents included in the General Education Program in Literature 2018. This is a new point of the program, posing many challenges for teachers and students in teaching and learning this type of document. The article analyzes the concept and objectives of teaching reading comprehension of information text for 6th graders according to the General Education Program in Literature 2018, thereby proposing some methods of teaching reading comprehension of this text type. The paper also suggests the way to approach and teach information text. These will be specific, useful suggestions and instructions for teachers and students in the process of teaching the reading comprehension section of information text, especially in the context of preparing to replace the Literature 6 textbook.
