STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) Integrated Teaching aims to develop STEM skills for learners to adapt to the current development of science and technology. At universities, in order to develop STEM skills for students, it is important that teachers have STEM-integrated teaching competence - a highly effective implementation of the design and delivery of STEM-integrated teaching and assessment of students' learning outcomes on STEM topics. This research highlights the component competencies and specific manifestations of STEM integrated teaching capacity; proposes a process of fostering the capacity of STEM integrated teaching for lecturers at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education. The proposed process is applied to the training on the “STEM Education through Community Service Learning” topic for 32 school teachers in the 2020-2021 school year. The research results can be applied into the practice of training high school teachers, lecturers and teacher students of pedagogical schools across the country.
